創業１００年以上の店が珍しくないフィレンツェで、まだ開店２０余年。かつて米国で工場生産された七つ折りのネクタイをヒントにし、芯を抜き、すべて職人の手作りにした。生地の巻き縫いだけで２時間かかるそうだ。

柔らかさを生かし、クルッと丸めてポケットチーフとしてあしらい、夕食時にはレストランの前でサッっと結ぶ。こんな着こなしを提案する。「完璧なスタイルは好みじゃない。おしゃれな人は『はずし芸』を身に着けている。働くことばかり考える現代人も、花を飾ったり贈ったりする余裕や、はずしが欲しい」

多忙でも日に３度はワイシャツを着替える。「陽気になるため。アイロンが利いたシャツは気分も華やぐ」。本当のおしゃれは、こんな生活習慣が生むものなのだろう。
