Daily work of "Maa-chin"…まあちんの日課

Mr. Masashi(Maa-chin) in the first grade of junior high-school
Ishikawa Prefecture Shiga-cho wake up at 6:30AM twice a week
Monday and Tuesday, and dashes out of the house.

There is a cheap sweets shop there, and Kikuko Kawaguchi (76)
that the foot is handicapped lives. Maa-chin does the garbage
putting out twice a week for Mrs. Kawaguchi.

The chance was a scene that had been seen in a certain rainy
morning. Mrs. Kawaguchi had the umbrella in the right hand

Maa-chin saw that scene and determined. Parents thought,
"Where do you go from early morning?" without noticing first.

The shop of Mrs. Kawaguchi who queues up cheap sweets of 10 yen
and 20 yen such as lemonades and chewing gums is a collecting place
of the child in the vicinity. Maa-chin is one person who went to
this shop at time when he is small.

Mrs. Kawaguchi says.

Even if I will give the pocket money, he said, "I never do this
for money." I love him, and I always wish to express my gratitude
for matching the hand in my mind.

Mrs. Kawaguchi tries to decrease the raw garbage to lighten garbage.
But Maa-chin said "Do'nt mind. Because it is cool even if it is heavy."

"I become old age. I think that let's stop this shop in two years. I'm
happy to be able to see Maa-chan's wife someday." Mrs. Kawaguchi said.
Maa-chin just laughed shamefully.

石川県志賀町の中学一年生の奥下雅士君は、月曜と火曜の週２回、
午前６時半に起き、家を飛び出す。緩やかな１００メートルほどの坂を、
ダッシュして登る。

そこに一軒の駄菓子屋さんがあり、足の不自由な川口菊子さん（７６）
が住んでいる。奥下君は、川口さんのために、週２回、ゴミ出しを
してあげているのだ。

きっかけは、ある雨の朝に見た光景だった。川口さんが右手に傘、
左手にごみ袋を持ち、足を引きずりながらごみを出す姿を見て、
決心した。最初は、両親も気づかずに「朝早くからどこへ行くのかな」
と思っていた。

ラムネやガムなど１０円、２０円の駄菓子が並ぶ川口さんの店は近所の
子供のたまり場になっている。奥下君も小さい時からこの店に通って
いた一人だ。

川口さんは言う。

まあちんに小遣いをあげようといっても「ぼく、それが欲しくて、
しとるんじゃないげん」と言う。そんなまあちんが好きで。
いつも心の中で手を合わせています。

川口さんはゴミを軽くするために生ゴミを減らそうとするが、
奥下君は「大丈夫、大丈夫。重くても平気だから」

「年も年だし、もう２年で店おこう（やめよう）かと思ってい
る。いつかまあちんのお嫁さん見られたらいいな」と川口さん
が言うと、まあちんは照れたように笑うばかりだった。
