Homework…しゅくだい

There is lending a picture book once a week in daughter's kindergarten.
The other day, my daughter five years old borrows a pcture book named "Homework('Syukudai' in japanese). I began to read in the futon(bed) as usual at night.

The outline of this book. Mogu-kun is mole and hero of this book. His teacher at the school gave children a homework "Be hugged by your family". But Mogu-kun 's mother is very busy with the new-born child's care. He is hesitating and cannnot to say his homework easily. However, at the end he was hugged closely by all families.

Suddenly, I got shock reminding my family's scene. My daugter was experienced in a kindergarten and could do most things by herself. And I reminded that I was so busy to take care my lower 1-year-old younger brother.

"Ah. I did not hug her recentry. Did she feel lonely?"

After reading, "Come here" I spoke to my daughter who heard by the next futon(bed). And I hugged her closely in the bed. She seemed ashamed. After I huggd her, she seemed happy, and immediately got sleep breathing of sleep.

It was a book borrowed by chance, but It remained in my mind for long time.

Since that day, I sincerely do "Homework" with my two children everyday.

娘の幼稚園では週に一度、絵本の貸し出しがあります。先日、５歳の娘が借りてした本は「しゅくだい」という絵本。いつものように夜寝る前にお布団で読み始めました。

あらすじは、主人公のもぐらのもぐくんが、学校の先生から「おうちの人にだっこしてもらうこと」という宿題を出されます。けれど、もぐくんのお母さんは、生まれたばかりの赤ちゃんの世話で大忙し。ちゅうちょして、なかなか「しゅくだい」を言い出せません。でも、最後は、家族みんなから抱きしめてもらうというお話です。ふと、我が家の風景がだぶり、ドキリとしました。幼稚園にも慣れ、ほとんどのことが自分でできるしっかりものの娘だから、下の１歳の弟にばかり手をかけていたことに気づかされたのです。

そういえば、最近ギューしてあげてないな。さびしかったかな。

読んだ後、隣の布団で聞いていた娘に「おいで」と声をかけました。そして、お布団の中で思い切り抱きしめました。気恥ずかしそうにしていた娘ですが、ギューした後すぐに幸せそうに寝息をたてて寝てしまいました。

偶然借りてきた本なんでしょうが、心に残る一冊との出会いになりました。

それ以来、心をこめて、２人の子どもたちに「しゅくだい」をする毎日です。
